ONE DAY ONLY: Sunday 12/30 10am – 5pm
A van will leave from the front of Church of St. Luke & St. Matthew’s at 520 Clinton Avenue @ 10am to go to the Action Center, and will leave the Action Center @ 4pm to go back to 520 Clinton Ave.
Public Transportation: Take the A train to JFK, transfer to the Shuttle bus towards Far Rockaway, then take the H train to Beach 60th Street. Walk three blocks to Beach 57th St. and Beach Channel Drive (the shuttle and H train is free). Please consider rush hour traffic in this method of transport, suggestion of leaving the Action Center around 3pm when taking public transportation.
Volunteers will be performing center clean up, and supply intake activities, e.g. moving debris to dumpsters, unloading supply trucks, unpacking boxes, and organizing supply rooms.
It’s cold! Work gloves, boots and warm winter wear, strongly suggested for all volunteers.
